If I passed you in the streets-
Would you recoginze me?
Would you acknowledge me & speak-
Or..., would you hurry by without a peep?
As my past rushes in & unwinds-
I often think about our good times!
How promises of best friendships were made-
Years later, and we're starngers today!
Appearances of our Souls have changed-
Only a recognizable shell remains!
Casually, we greet and talk-
Avoiding eye contact, Shocked by glares, stalking!
With others, a slight connection remains-
Promising friendship, where trust can be gained!
Slowly, we get to knonw-
That person, that friend, from long ago!
Warmth that feeds our souls-
Glows outwardly, when geniune caring shows!
It's special when you can share-
A life long connection, that's very rare!
