One Lonesome Solider

Bombs exploding all around-
Men and Women fall to the ground!
Buildings crumble in a flash-
While people choke on tear gas!
Fires burning deep into the night-
Children screaming out of fright!
Soliders committing suicide because they can't stand-
To bear another day among this terror...this wasteland!
People starving in the streets-
Sirens wailing defeat-
But under the rumble that has cascaded down-
One lonesome fighter can be found!
He raises his weapon up high to his chest-
For during war, he can not rest!
Searching for the wounded within his battalion-
Mixed in with the dead, that's where he'll find them!
One lonesome solider stands out in the mist-
The pain and sadness in his eyes can't be missed!
Walk away from the horror your eyes have seen-
Lift up your heart and release a beautiful dream!
* (I had a vision & wrote this in less than five minutes, when I turned on the internet, I found we had just made our first strike! In honor of all who have died serving & for all those who still serve to protect us & our Freedoms: Know you are Loved!)
