Daddy's Ole Jalopies

In the yard scattered about-
Were Daddy's ole jalopies, which had given out!
Although their motors had died-
His eyes gleamed upon them with pride.
For in his mind, he could see-
So many possibilities!
With his hands, he could create-
And change their unfortunate fate!
Saturated with grease from head to toe-
Determined to make his jalopies go!
He'd work way into the night-
Making sure, he'd done things right.
With black coffee by his side-
He'd brush the sleep from his eyes.
For tomorrow, he was sure to take-
A ride in that jalopy, later that day.
Excited to show everyone in town-
Beaming as he drove around!
He was born to ramble those roads-
To show his creations & to boast!
