There are things, Lord, I find myself in-
I blindly walk into a trap that burns.
Ignorantly, I walked on in-
How much must one endure to learn!
Too stubborn to know what's good for me-
And so mistakes, I repeat & repeat!
It rips me up inside to know-
How foolishly, I grow!
Knowing better, still taking a risk-
Hoping this time somehow I'll miss.
Hoping once & for all it was true-
The time had come for no more blues!
Instead, I find myself stung-
Punished for being so wrong!
But tough enough to stand & fight-
Wrong is Wrong, & Right is Right!
It's time to make my stand-
Buckle up, tough like a man!
Thank my Blessings that it wasn't worse-
And knowing, I wasn't the First!
