Nine Months

For nine months I carried you-
While my feet were swollen and blue.
Sleeping with a pillow and chair-
At times, I was worse than a bear.
I felt like a balloon-
For me, you couldn't come too soon.
You took over my body-
Giving me an appetite that was hearty.
I was miserable as could be-
You took all my strength and energy.
At times, it was rough-
Those times, I had to be tough.
I was thrilled to feel you inside-
Kicking and jumping from side to side.
I'd rub and talk to you everyday-
Sometimes tickling you to play.
Cravings I couldn't control-
At lunch, we'd take a stroll.
But when I went into labor-
Dying, I delivered you to my savior.
