I'm the rain that flows freely about-
I never come in the same spot.
I nurture and feed the earth-
It's from me streams and rivers give birth
With my gifts, cooling the earth down-
Making the colors appear more profound.
I dance around from place to place-
The one element that can't be replaced.
With just enough, all adore me-
With too much, all fear me.
Sometimes I come without warning-
Sometimes, my warnings mostly alarm.
There's nothing sweeter than a soft shower-
While thunder and lightning show their power.
Listening to the rain hit window panes-
Enjoying the smells after a summer rain.
Relaxing with each drop that falls-
Making a nice show, worth it all.
Without rain, we'd have no rainbows-
It's rainbows which helps us remember to hope.
