The clear tone of a bell,
a page in an old book,
she grabs a candle
and her heavy black cloak.
She runs, a figure flowing
under the spell of the Moon.
Silver light from the Moon,
her footsteps sound like a bell
on the pebbles by a river flowing.
Her life is found in a book
and the night sky is her cloak
with the stars as her candle.
The slowly melting candle
cannot compete with the Moon.
Protected well by her cloak,
its' clasp resembles a bell.
She withdraws her book
and from her lips, words are flowing.
Beams of light are flowing
from the shining candle.
Verses from that special book
are in harmony with the Moon.
Her voice is a strong bell
that weaves a mystical cloak.
Mood as heavy as a velvet cloak,
the scented air is flowing.
Water resounds like a bell.
Dimly lit by a wax candle,
she greets the Lady Moon,
leaves rustle like pages in a book.
The Moon and seasons are in her book.
She dons again the cloak.
Having danced under the Moon
with clothes and hair flowing,
she lights another candle
and rings the final bell.
The seasons are flowing like her cloak.
She lives by candle and by bell,
always with her book and her Moon.
Author's Notes: This came out of an assignment in a poetry class in college. I forget what this type of a poetic form is called, but I liked it and it seemed that the rest of the class did too.....at least one had a guess in the right direction on the nature or subject of my poem.
