River of Forgetfulness

Nepenthe --
--makes you forget.
--soothes the raving lunatic.
--kills you?
--makes you lose your identity.
Like the Space of Play -- potential space.
You know where you are, but
you know you are somewhere else, too.
Idea of being one with creation and separation.
Playing is midway between psychotic and reality --
go too far and you can't get back.
To really be GI Joe, you have to
forget who you are.
You're there, but you're not.
Go too far and you can't find your way back.
Like the writer, who
turns wealth into literature --
--you study weird people, then
imagine their lives. You write
to live the life you imagined.
Yet, if you become your story,
the ability to create is lost.
Then you forget how to write and you
can't find your way back.
Nepenthe -- the river of forgetfulness --
--leads you midway between psychotic and reality.
--makes you forget.
--makes you lose your identity.
--kills you?
--soothes the raving lunatic!
Don't lose your way back.
Make your way out of the Titanic, and
back to reality.
When you feel like you do when you
leave a movie theater -- this
is the moment when you are
coming back.
Go too far, and you can never come back.
