Life is a poem being written by you.
When you're young your life is a rhyme.
Fluttery, dancing, and play too
Every step taken in its time.
Life is a poem being written by you.
School, friends, and work abound
Fear, Joy, and sadness too
watch your life twirl around
Life is a poem being written by you
Bills, debut, and stress never end
Marriage, Love, and peace too.
Live your life, never to be crowned
Life is a poem being written by you
Sickness, Death and pain are constant.
Life, Wisdom, and grandchildren too
this poem is not yet done, and may never cease
Your life was a poem whiten by you.
They rhyming is done,
the wisdom of age tells you to move on
The memories of loved ones long past
keeps pulling you along
This never ending path of life
from bringing to end
flows like a marry go round
round and round we go,
never seeing where we are
fearing where we must end up
Time to step off,
change the poem
start writing of times to come
not times of the past
continue on your way
embrace the inevitable
never forget nor dwell in times long gone
Finishing off this cadence of life, is a hard thing to do
never wanting to cease, praying for an end
Such is life, I once claimed
Such a pessimistic view.
I still agree what has come to pass can not be changed
But always work to change what may be
or you will truly cease.
Author's Notes: Wrote this poem today (7/15/04) at 4am, while filling out an online dating thing, it asked for anything else I wanted to say and for some reason I wrote this. /shrug
