At the mic I stand
without a thought in my head
Speachless I stair at the crowd
Their anticipation floats in the air
Like a bird on the thermals
As I open my mouth
a gust blows
The bird drifts ever higher
the words start to flow before
the thought is acknowledged
Time stands still
for the one moment
Before the words cease.
The bird is held motionless
as I draw it in.
Feeding the words as fast as I can.
Then time comes crashing in
as the bird makes his dive.
