Dark Stonehenge

When at last I close my eyes
and shed my fleshy shell
I will fly through cold night
landing a silver robed cog
in Merlin's Giant's Dance
I will fuse with Celtic hanging stones
tattoo my face with runic symbols
quarry new limbs
set my beating clock again
finding equinox and solstice
My tongue will stay clipped to secrets
the code unknown except
by hooded worshipers
who slip through waves of moonlight
and come to my pagan cathedral
in praise of a faceless god
I will stand beyond mortality
the confusion of ages
dark stonehenge of beauty
mystical
ancient
Author's Notes: This was written as an epitaph for myself long ago before I'd found my way to this pagan path, but my spirit was crying out for it...
