Time bids us adieu

It rests here
where your eyes meet mine
this flood of hopes and dreams
That draws us closer to the marrow
of what love is and can be.
It is in the soft sigh
where words need not harbour
the knowing that one cannot deny
that draws deeper than the roots
holds the pins of life together
and calls out its love.
That shadows come
there is no doubt
that the mind in fear
and strange to the ground
can be frightened by this inward hush
This peace most profound.
Yet! we share it
When wrapped into arms you come
Hold each other against the break of day
When torn we long each others moment, the joy
That draws here again and again
To the sweet promise of love.
That we listen
where the night whispers its chilled air
the sheets ruffle upon a turn
The knowing beyond compare
That there by ones side
In the night, in the day
Ones promise is never far away.
That I long your eyes
drifting there to materialize
Upon my own, the gentle sighs
That love oft times draws upon
furnishes us deep the longed for kiss
That wanting, that within we miss
When times bids us adieu.
