O' My Caledonia
how sweet and bitter is your form
That ravishes us upon your beauty
And beats us with your storm.
Who in all honesty
can truly,
save a Scot understand thee
The purest of symmetry
that flows upon our minds
dresses our world to her delights
and there in silent nights
Calls her children home.
Where twinkling stars and brisk air
embraces us beyond compare
Her song, that delight,
upon our journeys flight
Always but leads us home.
O' mystery of womanhood
no Gaelic tongue can draw you sweet
though tyrant come and tyrant fall
You lay the heart to beat.
When in prosperity or depravity
the world sweeps fine away
You shall be my love, that trilogy
Where the immortal soul shall stray.
