Here where the pools draw
the sweet scent of the morning hovers
where the salmon flood the brim
and the hazel nut falls......
Gebann, that ancient cast wizard
That Druid of renown
Who plays within the mirrors of fate,
yields upon the transformations of time
and lays upon the firmament of place
The blessings of his daughters face.
Does beauty shine within the divine
as such a goddess so full of grace
That Manannan so inspired by her form
Brought her into his keep.
Ah! But Love that creed of a woman's soul
Longed within her there to find
That mate that would fill her so
To the wonderment's of love.
Where tide to form she entered the great divide
spread her wings upon the sea
and came upon old Erin in one vast wave
To conquer loves trilogy.
That here she meet her lovers face
A man of the Gaelic race that drew
And held her heart in awe to the mornings fragrance.
Love this pampering wanting cry
That holds all mortals and gods upon its sigh
filled these two beings and there combined
to breed the stock that here we find
Rests upon Cork's fair shore
And holds to her ever more.
Love! Is but a glimmer within the eye
the moment captured and then good-bye
For a Goddess cannot exists where mortals tread
But must forever reside amongst the un-dead
to dream her song upon the fields
where once she came to lovers form
and blessed the day, held to its sway
where mortals hold the rule.
She visits the lands upon the tides
where she sees her children there reside
To call them home to her side
she wails upon their parting cry
When into the realms of her they die.
Where love enfolds around them blessed,
the sacred rest against their mothers breast
She holds them here into eternity
across the waters, beyond the sea
To the lands of youth.
