The world to life

Age Group: Adult
The magic that here
seems of itself to hold
bares the open presses
those held entwined visions
that once spoke clear and loud
Out upon a fertile mind.
There's a mystery to being
where this world is so strained
upon concepts that bind and hold
The world upon its wake.
A long slow death they say
That wears this world away.
I still hear within
those songs that in youth I'd sing
the soft whispering promise of days
Without all this material haze.
A simple time perhaps its said
rained upon the privilege of time
and spawned there within a mind
The dreams of tomorrow.
Where bird upon its gentle course
lived the winds embrace
Like this mind that saw within all
The greatness of our race.
I stretch out across the years
Hoping again to quench the tears
That fill where empty my soul now drinks
The despair into which it sinks.
For that golden branch
That rowan twig
which held the universe at bay
upon a most prosperous way
and gave to life that breath of Gods
that held this focused mind in awe
For all that within I saw.
Let humble prayer there again excite
The goals of truth to again invite
The tender thought that harbored no ill
The glory that within did fill
And called the world to life.
