A love long gone

She once was a chamber of jewels
that filled each cove of bliss
The kiss
I miss,
and held my heart, and there the mind
upon each delicate curve divine.
Her voice an enchantress of songs
that lilted deep the core of me
and raised my dreams there to fly
where love to love holds its sigh,
Cry,
The bitter herb of fate
which stretches, opens and closes the gate
To hate,
where love once did bloom.
The toil, the pain , the longing that abides
hides,
deep within the texture of membranes
hoards the moments whim, the silent prayer
that somewhere,
over the cold cast iron
you would return.
Ah! Foolish mortals that bridge their grasp
of reality within the gasp,
the cast of a mask of longing dreams,
deep within in silence screams
the withered song of the aeons
for a love long gone.
