There's a fine blue film
that seems to sweep
from one side of thought
to another of dreams.
Sometimes,
The unimaginable breath of life
seems to hold it upon itself
almost as if life would be void, empty
save for the gloom, the foreboding
that haunts the states of common realization
To the cry of another promise.
We all experience these bouts
these hedging doubts
That seem to ever peer over our shoulders
Cling upon our backs
Where these shadows
sweep across the full image of what once we were.
Draining us, Sucking us dry
from that precious elixir of life.
