Emancipation

Age Group: Adult
These days wear heavy
that cloak of dark, unknown visions
that seem to spread out across and through
each dip of land and crest of sea
into a dried up desert of songs.
I've watched the humanities come and go
the expression of will and intensified hopes
that far out way the scope of being
lost upon themselves, like ships without a sail
cast upon stormy, tumbling seas
that craft far from normality
and begs from the mighty purse the spell
where riches stem and breed their hell
into some dreary infested lake of faith
and they call it a lively hood.
Hands stretch out from beneath the soil
clad in the clods of clay that staunch their reach
Poor bodies that never truly see the light of day
under the cloud of dark dismay
and here in their humble abode
they pray for more.
Weary the breath against the early dawn
that walks the crusted lanes of life
seeking a goal, a dream , a being
and saddened to the core they seek
The end of days, the Messiahs rendering
the peering equality that has faded in their frowns
into those liquid pools of print and emancipation.
