day dream for cyclops

Day dream for cyclops.
It starts when he opens his eye.
The misty hint of dreams fresh in his mind.
He don’t need no third eye.
He sees his visions just fine.
And there’s three shades of darkness,
between the abyss and the night.
Now, he is just like you and I.
We all need a little lovin’ once in a while.
But it ain’t always clearly in black and white.
Rain falls in hues of gray and colors time.
While we break our bread and drink our wine.
The Music calls us to our holy ghosts,
you pray to yours and I’ll talk to mine.
Caress the earth and breathe the sky.
Sing immortal songs of fire and light.
Snow did blow and the stars did sigh.
Mountains rumbled where I forged my prize.
The Gods trembled when I learned to cry
Dance for joy until the day you die,
when you are happy daughter, so am I.
Forever more is you and I...

Author's Notes: i wrote this song after my daughter watched monsters inc. she turned to me with the light bulb flashing over her head and pronounced me a cyclops. i lost my right eye in a childhood accident. sometimes i wear a patch, sometimes i wear a plastic eye that was made just for me. these are the words to the song i hope i can out to the public one day.
