Of all the things I have ever known...

Of all the things I have ever known
This is the most true
the sky is blue,
the bluest blue
with floating clouds
the wind is blowing
I’m standing at the door
Staring out into the world
And I know she is here
She is me
and I am her
my goddess
a raven’s call
Pierces the thin, morning air
The wind blows gently
through my hair
A cool hand touching my cheek
Of all the things I have ever known
This is the greatest feeling
A woodland, not far
from where I live
I stare into its depths
It calls to me
It’s real and this is real
It’s a calling I have to go to
But I will go in my heart
Anyone else may not
think this is right.
But this is the path I choose
just as this is the air I breathe.
The wind- a mother’s embrace
Her world, my world
One in the same
Just as the sun sets
In the west-
My time of the twight…
when She raises to the skies
casting moonlight shadows
over the land.
And I dance in the light
and it feels right.
Casting my lunar shadow
across the landscape.
Watching it mold and change
into something greater-
who I am,
who I was meant to be,
and who I have become.
Author's Notes: This was one of the poems I wrote when I was younger, maybe sixteen years old. I was doing what I usually do, standing in the doorway just looking outside. I was stuck inside one of those moments where we are enraptured by nature and just feel pulled inside.
