Take A Pill
by Five Fold Kiss
Age Group: Adult
Take a pill for the beginning of the day
Take a pill for the curtains you pull to chase the light away
Take a pill for all your countless fears
Take a pill to pass the countless years
When you stop
The world continues to move
You stay in your own wreckage
The world passes round you
Junkie
Never sober enough
Ever wonder what your missing?
No! You never cared enough to listen
What do I need to break through?
Take a pill for the beginning of the day.
Take a pill for the curtains you pull to chase the light away
Take a pill for all your countless fears
Take a pill to pass the countless years
I'm looking in through
Your painted window
Viewing paper scattered round
A parchment life you have found
Condemning your self to hell
Enclosed by your tangible insanity
Living in a delusion of reality
Your comfortable illusion
With no rescue
What do I need to break through?
No will to talk
No will to live
No will to walk among the norm again
When all else fails and life is dim
You take a pill to paint the illusion you chose to live in!
What do I need to break through?
Author's Notes: This is about my dad who is an untreated schizophrenic also battling with drug addiction knowing that… rest of the poem should be pretty much self explanatory. Let me know what you think, good or bad… constructive criticism is always welcome!
