The Ritual

Standing alone in a darkened room
Naked, vulnerable, standing waiting
You watch the doors with anxious eyes
The doors whisper with many voices and with a click they're open
The priestess proud in robes of green leads the way across the room
Others follow with tools in hand
Now you're circled by robes of crimson
Mothers, daughters, sisters, all
They chant right now, but not too loud, the words are soft and distant still
Your heart is tight as you hear the words, but begins to soften with the beat
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
There is no translation for the words you hear, yet they're familiar as you slowly slip into a trance
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
The chant becomes louder as the women begin to spin around you
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
They circle you faster, and faster still
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
The world is a blur as they spin around
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
You see the world with brand new eyes
Alcomeh Dahtorah Evosah Nir
And suddenly they stop.
'De comah fatenta, ' the priestess shouts
And all is still.
Author's Notes: This poem has no basis in fact, but is a vision of mine that occurs during periods of change in my life. The words are of no particular linguistic origin, simply the words that are said in the vision. If you like it, let me know and I'll keep posting more like it.
