appalachia mountains

Appalachia mountains are calling me
with a voice like a whippoorwill and deeper than the sea
ancient as the ginseng, beneath the tulip tree
as big and strong as the chestnut used to be.
Bury me where the magnolia flowers fall
where the carolina hemlock struggles to stand tall
where rocks grow beards of fern beside the waterfall
where wolf hunts again and owl whos and calls
the clouds kiss the ground good morning from the sky
the sun shades the universe from my curious eye
I fathom a little closer as my soul begins to fly
and my mind begins to know the reasons why.
Appalachia mountains are calling me

Author's Notes: this is a song. i've recorded. hope to have it available soon. it's done in a single chord style where you stay in one note like 'g' and keep playing until it gets resolved. like bag pipe music or some old banjo tunes.
