Dark was the place
a spirit did reside
self inflicted anger
and sorrow did abide
Every moment spent
praying for the last
the darkness started calling
it came upon it fast
Tears that flowed like rivers
never allowed a moments peace
the demons in the darkness
the soul would not release
Slumping through an empty age
stumbling past points of light
Began to notice the splendor
and thus began the fight
The soul fought
for the very first time
for itself and not another
it had found a sign.
To live without crushing guilt
for each day it was born anew
in a search for love and light
it came across things it had never knew.
"Your life is yours to do with what you will"
said a voice filled with kindness and love
"as long as you harm none."
said the very same spoken of.
Filled with feelings never known
A soul began to walk the path
and began to take each breath
as if it were it's last.
Author's Notes: It's about my fight with depression and how Mother turned my life around, and I'm here to say how appreciative I am! It's kind of a story I suppose. I tried my hand in poetry! :D
