The Bloom or the Seed

Like the seed that has found it to be painful to stay a seed
I want to bloom and become who I know I can be
It is time for me to step into the light and to take on responsibility
It is time to again embrace the Lord and Lady
The winter of the spirit has begun its thaw
Once again I hear the call
A return to the Earth and reverence all of creation.
To plant and to grow, to heal and to exercise my imagination
I have reclaimed my identity as a Pagan, a Wiccan
Solitary eclectic, a recovering Christian
I have seen, felt and heard the Great Spirit beckon to me
Drawn to the field, mountain, forest and sea
Too many long years of self-suppression
In an effort to accommodate another’s fear and obsession
Now I realize the harm I have self-inflicted
Allowing others to mold and control by being vindictive
This time of change is set upon me
I have to decide if I am to be the bloom or the seed
