Morning Brilliance

Looking up through the arms of my green brothers
The wonder of robin’s egg blue meets my eye
I thank the Lady for such splendor.
Greeting the new day’s beauty with Joy.
The golden glow of the Lord’s smile
Just peeking over the horizon,
Has not yet reached the hollow where I stand;
Yet as I gaze through the upstretched branches
Of my forest brothers, I glimpse the first golden rays
Touch the tallest of them standing watch around me.
Tall and gnarled he may be,
He stands much taller than me,
Reaching ever higher to greet the Lord in his majesty,
His top-most branches bathed in brilliant golden fire.
