To the Gods of Sleep and Dreams
by Sage Runepaw
Age Group: Adult
To sleep, to chance a dream-
for all things are not as they seem.
In all dreams are a hidden portal
be they for fey, animal, other or mortal.
It is through these gates that you must come
From deepest night until the rising sun.
Within, a pause from being tired
To be anyone- anything- to have dreams desired.
While the body reclines it softly rises and ebbs;
One's eternal soul weaves its dreamlike webs.
And every morning, dreams you must translate,
for they bear messages to help your life navigate.
Now, Lord Morpheus and Lord Hypnos,
Let me cease this poem- I need sleep the most.
So as I finish writing by candle's light,
I wish you both blessings, thanks and good night.
