Teddy

At times…
Teddy’s little eyes reflected the bright smile of the child that beheld them
His little arms held her tight through the night
His little ears heard whispers of “I love you.”
And his soft fur tickled her rosy cheeks
At others…
Teddy’s little eyes reflected the tears of the broken girl
His little arms held the child’s body as it trembled out of fear and pain
His little ears heard the endless cries, the slaps, the kicks, the shattering of glass, tearing of skin, and breaking of bones
And his soft fur pressed blood from the little girl’s wounds
Now…
Teddy’s little eyes stare through the coffin’s darkness
His little arms are held by those as lifeless as his own
His little ears hear no more cries or “I love yous” only silence
And his soft fur rests stained with blood and tears
Author's Notes: a bad little poem wrote in middle school -.-
