Shadow Dancer

Shadow Dancer
Mysteries of movement, across this sanctuary's floor of blue stone
The lighting shifts dimensions, I see a butterfly, trying to atone
A weeping from the rafters, calls attention to the meaning of the dance
The Shadow dancer flows from here to there, pattern of pure chance
Caller of the gallery, with a sword hanging from a thread
Is that a crown of thorns, perched upon his head
There is singing from a sparrow, that has landed just to see
Is that eye truly watching, from its place, in a diamond studded tree
I found a flower growing, in the desert of despair
Along the way I saw, the meaning of repair
A shadow has no meaning, locked away from care
Consumption of forbidden fruit, requires that you dare
Castle have no substance, when they exist outside of love
A creature of destruction, has no notion of the clouds above
A cadence beat upon this drum, is slowing from the pace
It is time to leave from here, there is a better place
I was a child playing with the sun, and burns take time to heal
Another will take my place, believing the shadows great appeal
In memory the fruits are bitter, holding nothing more than death
Its beauty an imposter, waiting to steal away your breath
I have been to Sodom, I crossed a bridge across the pool
The flight away from danger, was more costly than a jewel
But the meaning of redemption, I found flowing all for free
It was cold as ice, refreshing, from a river close to a tree
