As I walk through the mist of morning

by Anunitu
 Age Group: Adult

As I walk through the mist of morning
The secrets that you seek, are lost in grains of sand No motion in the courtyard, just the vesture of a hand I will not recall the reasons for the night, only quiet While I fall through the seasons, colors great riot
There was a moment, when I saw the great divide awake Proceeded by the waters rush, and movement of the quake Call me not from the broken tree, I am deaf to your voice It was offered in peace, you rejected this thing by choice
Walk in the water, and rejoin the sea, nothing remains to do If there is a softness, in the world, it comes not from you I was healed from my care, by the plague, of the sunlight cast away the surety you believe can redeem the solid night
I never understood your greed, for the pain you greet with song Sever your commitments to duty, it has no right or wrong Take understanding of reality, take this gift from me give back my sanity, take from my wound, sacred seed to tree
Speak no words of mourning at my loss, I cross the sky, ride the light The truth is lost, except for the lesson learned in darkest night I have seen the open door, that hangs close by the entrance to the wall And behind its shelter, lies the broken promise that is lost to us all
Give me simplicity for an ending, no fanfare to mark the place Send me only freedom from the pain, that so fills this space My flesh has spoken to me in the night, with crys of sorrow There is no more to give, for this I understand tomorrow
