The Angel Speaks

For my beautiful brother, Scott.....
The Angel Speaks
The chord was severed and the angel took flight….
And the war of despair we now have to fight.
The man was an icon to those that he knew
And touched life with color, and signed it in “blue”.
The tears fall like rain and the small hands reach high
And grief stricken minds obsess to know why
Perhaps your calling was far more profound,
Than the sight of an answer or the spark of a sound.
You taught us to cherish the love in our lives
And to travel the road that was paved by the wise
You showed us the value of honor and faith
By teaching the lessons with kindness and grace
Hang on to the laughter, the angel will say
“I hear your cries, it’ll all be okay
When the colors faded I painted the sky
To show you I’m with you, I’m always nearby.
Remember my smile when confusion takes hold
I’ll be in your dreams with thoughts to behold
I’ll sing to you songs that bring you to me
And tell to you secrets of things yet to be
My garment is gone but my essence remains
To give you the strength to heal from the pain
I’m closer to you than ever before
For my soul is now with you, so loving and pure.
Stay close to each other in honor of me
And you’ll know that I’m pleased with the love that I see
My arms will still hold you, but in a different way
As my love still grows stronger and will always remain”…
