As if they're like the stealthy night,
They whisper softly through the wood.
Nibbling at all of the good, the right,
At all of the wholesome, the understood.
Prowling through the magic and the whim,
The enchanted twitter in exhilaration.
Echoing soundlessly, their giggles are grim,
For they are of a cursed generation.
Fated to ride the winds of the spellbound,
Lost in the infernal world of the enchanted,
They forever haunt without even a sound.
To them, silent bliss will never be granted.
So, they fly through the sea, air, and the land,
Wildly chasing the freedom they cannot seize.
They are of things someone would misunderstand.
They are forever trapped by the elfin disease.
Author's Notes: I wrote this poem on a whim one night. Quite frankly, I had some feelings I was unsure about at the time and needed to get them out somehow. That day, I was completely on edge because I intensely believed that I was being followed by some sort of spirit. No harm was done to me, I can assure you. But, that day, there were several instances of spiritual behavior. Like, hearing breathing in my bedroom, things falling without any propable explanation, seeing images of human figures out of the corner of my eye, and the constant feeling at the back of my mind that I was being watched. Since then, I have had no contact with this follower.
Maybe I was just having a day of craziness, or the spirit just visited for a day, got what it wanted, and left without a trace.
Whatever the circumstances, this poem was inspired by my follower.
