Magick in my Blood?

The spirit moves in time and connects those in my heart
It has been forever I knew not when it start
The magick in my being was that of love passed down
from older crones to my maiden girls energy abound
Confusion imprisoned their power as memories were lost
frozen was their purpose in time and under frost
As changes came about and their magick was forbidden
within their hearts they chanted not knowing what was hidden
They were forced to seek a prophet false and misleading
It led to their betrayel and soon their soul was bleeding
Their thoughts were misconstrued and in cells their bodies chained
Poisons filled their blood making sure they were tamed
I saw my elder women entrapped by prison walls
of moral interferance when justice made it's calls
The witches were forgotten as women lived in fear
seeking why they are and their purpose here
Generations passed and eyes were seeking truth
open now to everyone those eyes of witch's youth
No more covering truth of that from which we came
seeking all the others who's paths are all the same
With love I found the truth with feeling it was free
from my past was handed down from my mother and then to me...
Author's Notes: This thought was brought about because of the religous confusion for which my mother, grandmother and great grandmother paid a dear price. The forgotten ones who's magick carries on through their youth.
