The Search

The morning sun has risen
And I wake up shaken and afraid
Although my love was taken
The price had to be paid
I must seek a new destiny
In search of life and love
But I have no more than a penny
And no more than the symbol of a dove
I should not give up
And I should keep my head up high
I need to hind a delighted path
That will lead my dreams to the sky
Love, I learned, is very hard to achieve
But if I watch where I am walking
Then love will be easily received
The night moon has risen
And my first day has ended
Although my love was taken
My heart was easily mended
For along the path
I found friends and hope
And along the path
New dreams and a future
With it came love and a rope
The rope to symbolize my climb
The climb to a better ending
The climb to a new time
And no more pretending
I was shaken and afraid
In search of life and love
I knew the price had to be paid
So like a dream come true
I flew away on the wings of a dove
Author's Notes: hmmmmm........ it's a really random poem... I should probably only publish work that I feel are complete and not so cheesy, but oh well! I'm bored...
