The Summoning

This is where it all ends...
High in the west
The moon's crescent hangs,
Poised above the marshes
While all the air
Trembles
With shocks of distant melodies,
Distant memories...
Dark forests herald the ingathering,
The silken flutter of delicate wings
As the heron's cry weaves through the thickening mist.
Let it be beautiful when I sing my song
Let it be beautiful...
When I kiss the sun before I sing,
The stormcrow will herald
The time of Becoming;
The stars sigh as they gaze down upon me
Dreamer I am, he who walks with crows
Embracing the wind
Dancing with deer
Dancing with spirits
Gathering the clouds in my outstretched arms.
I have gone beyond
Gone beyond
Beyond beyond...
(I will give you my heart)
Awakening!
Straining to catch the view
Of a morning
That preceded all of this
In your sanctuary, your very soul.
The soft breath of summer
Gently caresses
The gates of dawn;
A note more pure than faerie bells
Rings in the thrush's song,
Seeking you
Summoning you...
(I will give you my soul)
Whisper to me the ancient words
So that I might find your spirit mine;
Let us bind our hearts
With new wonder and old splendor
And melt and dance in moonlight
Above calm rivers and ancient stones,
Sipping silk in the brilliance of dreams.
I dream upon the opposing lights of dusk,
Banishing the shadows
Until the moon manifests in glory...
I wish upon the hawks ascending to heaven,
Circling each other with unearthly primal shrieks
Carrying my hopes into the spiral
Into the void...
I will sing to you a song
A song no man yet has chanted
I will give you even my body...
What do you want?
What do you want now?
This is where it all begins...
