Sitting in the Darkness

Sitting in the darkness
wondering where you might be
Looking up at the stars
wishing you were next to me
I need you here
to keep me warm
And to keep me
away from harm
Sitting in the darkness
wishing your arms were around me
The coldness is drawing closer
It's closing in around me
Then I start thinking about you
and my body grows warm
Even if you are not nearby
you still keep me from harm
Your love for me
keeps me strong
I should have known it
all along
