Words (Oh how I love you)

I woke up with the words on my lips, as if they had come to me in a blissful dream- Oh, how I love you.
They were nothing new, and I couldn't be sure for whom they were intended, but it meant something, anyway. Enough to stay on my mind all day for the next few days.
I went to work and I did my job. It was a good day, and most people were cheerful. Oh, how I love you. It wasn't quite the perfect fit, but it was alright, and it kept the words on my mind.
I ate Thai with a friend of mine, and the words came back then as well. Oh, how I love you. It was close, really close, like a shoe that's only a half-size too big, but it kept it in my mind.
My friend and I, we got high, and I thought again Oh, how I love you. It reverberated like a song in the molecules of the universe, something you hear everyday, but only appreciate if you're actually listening. I knew what to do.
I went to the forest in the park, climbed to the top of the hill and sat on a rock. Here, it fit well. Oh, how I love you. I said, and the molecules sang their pretty song for me: Oh, how I love you. and me and the hydrogen and nitrogen and whatever sang to the goddess in ourselves and she said nothing
that she didn't say through us.
