My Creation Myth

Long long ago,
In a time before time, in a place before places,
Chaos ruled.
Energy seethed. There was no up or down, no near or far.
Matter was not.
Into this Chaos came the God and the Goddess.
Wince they came no one knows.
It matters not.
They came.
The God and the Goddess looked upon each other and saw beauty.
They knew each other and loved.
Their love was a raging gale, a blinding flame.
Their love was deeper than any ocean,
more solid than any mountain peak.
Their loving stirred Chaos and Chaos shuddered.
Within the deep dark womb of the Goddess a seed grew, the fruit of their passion.
It was without dimension, for Matter was not.
It grew until the womb of the Goddess could no longer contain its energy.
She gave birth, explosively, brilliantly.
The birthing rocked Chaos.
Time began.
Matter formed.
Photons flew.
Quarks appeared, then Neutrons and Protons.
Energy flew off in all directions, for directions now existed.
Laws appeared.
The Universe was born.
Author's Notes: I normally write prose but decided to try what I call poetic prose. This "myth" is my own attempt to explain what cannot be explained and not intended to be a "creed". i believe we each need to understand myth and then create our own creation myths - the ones that make sense to us. - Birdingwitch (Judy Espedal)
