the descent

I stand, looking to the sky.
A piece of me wishing to fly.
The earth beneath me, holding me back.
Have I the heart, or is it a lack.
That keeps me from flying, another attack.
My mind whispers, you aren’t alone.
The loss of voice, is nobody home?
The path in front. I wish for the end.
The words consume me, I cannot comprehend.
Where have I gone, why am I here?
Awareness only. Am I not the seer?
Of paths unforgotten, lives time forgot.
My day has ended. Its not what I sought.
