Salvation

The journey beckons,
to see what I dreamed.
The lone wolf cries.
It's not what it seems.
The dusty trail.
The parched earth.
The mountain abyss.
The craggy perch.
The snow and the rain
and the consuming heat.
Its been three days
with nothing to eat.
At last I attain
the goal of my dreams.
My soul has been cleansed.
My purity claimed.
