Winter My Senses

It is true. The jingle bells jingle jingle
more than remind me of ole Kris Kringle
I hear them sing their chiming melody mild
and again.. I am there... when I was a child.
Winter... I hear you.
The bare trees sway bending, in the cold air
that winter is sending, and freezing rain drops
to it touch, I shiver and my skin tingles with bumps,
and you chill me down to the bone.
Winter... I feel you.
And white. Even sparkling in the night. White. Winter I see you.
I taste. The flavors that the season makes,
with cookies and candies, for goodness sakes,
wrapped boxes, pretty tins, the buckets and plates,
for the Season...it is that time again.
Winter... I taste you.
Fire burns Oak, and Cherry Wood. I never knew warmth
to smell so good. Cinnamon, Apple, Orange, and Spice.
Sprinkle for Luck, for Prosperity, and for Love. Warm
Cider and Chestnuts. Baked Ginger Bread.
Winter... I smell you.
