The Best Philosophy

I know Bear, a Chow Chow. His life's desire,
After pissing on the tree, is to get
His teeth into the rubber of that tire.
The tire, not the tree, is the better bet.
What is a tire, but a newfangled wheel?
That tire can stand for the Wheel of the Year,
That ancient Wheel being quite a big deal!
It connects us with what we hold so dear!
Piss on the Tree of Life! What can we do,
But climb it, at our own risk! Seeking pride,
We fall away from cardinal virtues;
Our fondest wishes often get denied.
"Piss on the tree, get that tire", is to me
The very best: canine philosophy.
