Will-o'-the-Witch

If, in spite of all the sadness on the worldly plane,
We make the effort to gaze enchanted at the full moon
And to leave ourselves open to feeling glad,
Then we might feel glad after all, to find in Lady Moon
An old familiar face! If, in spite of it all,
We will strongly enough to attune our lives
With the phases of Lady Moon, then we might regain
The wisdom of our ancient ancestors!
The course of Nature is indeed wonderful,
But magic does not quite happen without a will
Strengthened to where it can impose its rule
Over the flowing emotions and the energies,
Beautiful but unruly, even that of love,
In directing them into constructive activities.
Love and empathy are among the precious elements
Sometimes found in young children,
But without the will refined into a magical tool,
Hardly could we fuse them into a conscience,
Which is quite some concept! It makes hell
An irrelevant concept in comparison.
It is like, with a besom, why use wings!
A will-o'-the-wisp may be an elusive goal,
But the will-o'-the-witch is a priceless thing!
