Secret Contents

Like fine images of charging bison
Which were painted inside caves out of sight,
Masterpieces not meant for our vision,
So also wands with the most magic might
Appear to be merely fragments of limbs
Minus the bark. Often, the wand done well
Keeps the finest art hidden, sealed within.
Magic is not a time for show and tell!
A time to be blessed and a time to guard
Our boons are the two poles of our cycle;
The world of common people lacks regard
For those boons which true witches find vital.
What little need for them to know of boons,
The pearls of wisdom kept inside a wand,
To whose higher worth they first must attune
To claim them with a legitimate bond!
Know, that those treasures of your finest art,
The pebble of conscience, the sap of love,
Are best kept sacred in your secret heart,
And inside wands, so you may rise above.
