Higher Zones

by Radko Vacek
 Age Group: Adult

You're just in time! Hurry! Don't miss the flight! I have an extra ticket, "To dreamland - Round trip". Are you on? Good! I told you why: You're just in time! Soon you will understand That you need experiences better Than being in time and space, higher zones I mean. You deserve to encounter them, In the reality of great unknowns! Hardly ever does anyone by chance Catch a glimpse of how fairies do their jobs. They use skills which make ravens mischievous And empower little Hermes to rob. I have asked some fairies why they always Work their enchanting craft so out of sight. I quote three of them: "Secrecy adds charms Without which we hardly would have such might." "Foolish is the raven which, in full view, Takes the shiny gemstones, to get shot dead! Even Hermes would be merely a thief, If he worked his tricks in full view instead!" "Look not when the sun is high in summer, To see the beauty of a Fairy face; Rather, into the midnight shadows or, Perhaps, beyond the veil of spider's lace." Unlike angels who serve their god alone, Fairies work rather like Prometheus, But think not that they help just anyone! We must befriend them. Then they might help us, Getting us bits of Heaven right on Earth, Or of Olympus, and they take the blame! Who would not take on even Zeus in Court, With clever Hermes to defend their names? So, say that Hermes is your name as well! She nears! Do you sense the Lady Faerie? But, Friend, be sure to stay on her good side. Offended fairies can get quite hairy!
When you talk to them, make it poetry To make them feel they are at center stage, Even though fairies work behind the scenes For good enough to pay a fairy's wage. Make every one of them feel like King Lear By putting words into meter and rhyme; Use figures of speech and imagery, or Else they might take it as nearly a crime! Whatever you say, make it sound profound, No less than, "the cow jumped over the moon". If you let them feel that intelligent, then The fairies might bless you with many boons. Otherwise, you better stay on your toes! In the twinkle of an eye, you might die! You do not want to be around to feel Fairies working against you with their Psi. Think not, that fairies always are so cute. Handling them need not be a piece of cake. If one decides to turn into the beast, You might wish you had stayed there, wide awake. Already we arrive. Friend, disembark. Together let us cross the bridge, this log, To greet the Lady Faerie with a smile. Beware of the small dragon, her "guard dog"!
