Sacred Drum II

I can be your Lord to know you,
And you be my Lady, truly!
Unto your feeling heart be true,
And I be kindly and ruly!
Your Lord is the good man who knows
The sacrifice you would have paid.
And sees you as the opened rose
Someday, after your truth is made.
With compassion the binding cord
By which we and the world are bound,
Gladly I stay your loving Lord:
Your Heartbeat, be my holy sound!
Yes, sacred love, please fairies, teach,
And Nature, bless us, dear Mother,
But as mortals, far must we reach
To the stars of ideal lovers!
Blessed are the lovers who wait;
Given the time good will unfolds.
How can eternal love be late?
It blossoms best when we are old!
Let the sacrament of our lips
Be done, when that blessed time comes:
The feeling at our fingertips
Of the beating, that sacred drum!
