Dawn and the Day - a surprising story

Age Group: Adult
Just express something quite close to your heart,
With some slight nack for expressing added.
Birds signing at dawn play as much a part
In making the day as songs sung gladly
At dusk. Sadly, we sing our songs sadly,
Often times, lamenting the path we tread,
Instead of what we might have chosen well.
The grass tends to look greener. Who can tell
Whether or not this path works as life should,
In some ways in the ideal neighborhood?
I listen to the birds sing Evening Song,
Of divine composition! What went wrong?
At least errors help me learn. Their notes stream
Earthward like benedictions to this day,
Directing us toward a better way
And the happier songs which Dawn might bring.
P.S. No matter how nice Dawn may seem,
Here we cannot swear what the Day will bring!
