To Lunacy

Lunacy, please grant me the strength to do
What reason does not even dare to think!
Losing it all, I wonder what went wrong,
But on gaining insight, I realize
That you have been behind me, all along!
Would I dare to reach for the Pleiades,
With all the risks inherent in such heights,
Without you to give me audacity?
Death appears to me, constantly in view,
But without Lunacy, how life would stink!
May I love the enemy in my friend.
What can be crazier than that, I ask,
But without this craziness, to the end
I would be a stranger unto myself.
Therefore, love the enemy in your friend,
To own up to the weakness in yourself.
Therefore, my Love, chew me out! Wound my pride!
Pull out that vileness, fervently denied.
Help me to grow strong by taking it well.
How wrong we are, in always being right!
Never have I been nearer to the light
Of the seven stars - the madness of love.
May I love the reason in the madness,
Even the happiness in the sadness.
