Thus Serves the Loving Heart!

Age Group: Adult
Their professionals have fine degrees,
But the one, most essential difference is this:
Hospice people are there for fees;
Hopefully we are by reason of our hearts.
Unless they are truly necessary,
In this way they are evil. As the bees
Busily tending to the blossom undertake
Their labors to the end, so may we
Do loving duties for our beloved's sake,
And do it with pain-relieving mirth!
When at last our beloved shakes
The last vital sparks into the air and the earth,
If we can take the body under ourselves,
By all means let us do so!
Let us give the bygone life that utmost worth
Which it deserves, through planting there
The enchantment of a wild rose,
In this way transcending the despair.
Thus serves the loving heart!
