A Sight For Wise Eyes!

If you are noble, truly bold,
Come to my side now, and behold
The kind, ancient Lady Veracity.
"Oh my Lord!", you say? "What a sight is she!
Hair gray, skin all wrinkled, with just one tooth,
And some nose to boot - a Halloween hag!"
Why put age down? Your easy way to brag?
Wisdom is old. We think of countless ways
To cover up the oldness of the truth
About ourselves, and about everything!
But that is not the kind and the wise way.
These means of delaying and denying
Death are foolish, when we all are dying
Every day from the very beginning!
We reject the natural way as ours,
But death is as needed as any birth,
In maintaining the health of Mother Earth.
Lady Veracity is that Mother,
Whom we should honor above all others.
